Aqua Moon Daydreaming

Hi everyone,
I relate to so much that everyone has written on all these threads. I was wondering if Aqua Moons find themselves constantly daydreaming. I drift off all day and play out scenes in my mind.

Elusive in love??!

'She belongs to everyone, and yet to no one. Her love can be tender and inspired, but there will always be a vaguely elusive quality about it. Like all Aquarians, she may have an unconscious fear that desire for one person will imprison the spirit in some way, and keep her from being true to her one great love-freedom. Freedom to experiment and investigate and freedom to give time to humanity'.

Can anybody else relate to this? I think I am always aware of a need for my spirit to be free which can cause problems when it comes to maintaining a relationship...it just feels like a waste to spend all my time gazing into the eyes of one person, no matter how amazing I deem them to be, when there's a wonderful world out there to behold. When I'm with someone though, I am always faithful and would never dream of straying, yet I find it impossible to become completely absorbed in another person the way many other signs do...do any other Aquamoons/People with Aquarius in their chart feel like this? Is it fair to say we're elusive in love?

Hi All,

Just thought I would take a minute to express my love for this moon sign. I always feel a great connection with aqua moons and some of my best friends and lovers have had this placement.

I enjoy the accepting and non-judgmental nature, as well as the ability to rationalize emotions and to respect people from all walks of life.

I also feel like I can relate to aqua moons well, my moon being in gemini (it not only falls in the aqua decan and duad, but also opposes uranus, so I think it's safe to say I have a pretty good understanding of what it means to have an aquarius moon :))

Anyway, just thought I would say hi and show my appreciation

Question About Aquarian Moon Attractions

Ok you people. I'm wading into 'enemy' territory in hopes that I can get some answers.

I keep attracting Aquarian moons, and Aquarian personalities. Problem being that they don't seem to be all that Aquarian until I find out and it's too late to back out. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not the sign, per say. It's that I can't get close to Aquarian moons. Their idea of space is 4 out of every five months, and they'll call years down the road as if they never disappeared. Emotionally aloof, they don't want to or feel the desire to connect to me, commit, or really even be involved with me in any way. Yet they all keep coming after me...well, coming, then fading, then coming around again later in some vast cyclical movement. It's driving me insane.

I am a very attachment oriented person. One-on-one relationships are my #1 priority in this lifetime. I don't feel the need to heal any great wound in humanity, just those in the ones I love. It just gets so damn exhausting 'loving' people who just never think of me, what I want, or in what way they can repay me the things I do for them.

Ok, yeah, I'm quirky. I come across as Ms. Independant, but it's hard not to BE independent when you fend for yourself. It doesn't mean I don't want or need a lover. I'm a bit like one of those leafy, viny plants: I need my water every day or I'll shrivel up and die. Yes I can be artsy fartsy, and yes, I can be humanitarian...I suppose I'm just trying to figure out how I keep attracting people with these traits that don't do anything in my life but damage, so that perhaps I can tone down these aspects of myself and focus on others that will hopefully bring around someone who suits me.

Chart's in my profile. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

How do you act in love?

When you are in a relationship how do you act, how do you show your love???
The Moon is more profound and deeper than the Venus because Moon is our emotions. When I am in a relationship I feel my Moon is very important. I want freedom, excitment, spontaneity, I want to be close but not too close, also want passion and lots of sex.
I have Scorpio Sun so I feel my Sun qualities are always alive in a committed relationship.
I feel my love is a blend of my Sun, Moon and Venus(in Sagittarius).
I attract 'unusual' men, intellectual men, and mysterious soft-spoken men.

Any Aquarian Moons have issues with family expectations versus independance?

Hi fellow Aquarius Moons,

I was wondering, it seems as I get older, I am clashing more with my family's expectations and demands on my life. I have always felt comprimised in some way by them.

If I think back I have often disagreed and rebelled against the traditional family views, but I have also often let things slide in the past abd let them dominate me too much ( Taurus Sun in the 7th house).

I am 31 now and I am sick of saying yes t o their evey demand. So I have started to say NO, and its causing waves of drama, sadly.

I just want to be free to live my life the way I see fit, I am not doing anything wrong, but the expectations are getting very annoying. So I decided I have to live my life for me, which now means saying no to every family gathering of late. I have wasted enough time.

Does anyone else have or had in the past, a separation or difficuly getting ones own feedom, pschologically, emotionally of phsyically from their family?

I feel this does relate to having an Aquarius Moon though other Aquarian placements like Rising and Sun, Im sure can relate also.

Hi, im scorpio moon, but im fascinated and intruiged about the nature of aqua moon people. Thats couse aqua moon is so intresting but its hard to figure it out completly, and it always makes me wonder

So, when you like someone , but more as a friend, are your feelings long lasting
Even if you dont see that person for some time, like a year or more, does she / he always has a place in your heart.

And im curious about the aquarius moon intuition, i noticed that people with aqua moon can size people up pretty quickly
So do you have a gut feeling or do you make conclusions based on your observations

Thanks :)

Could having a partner and work colleagues be enough for you, or would you always seek a community of friends outside that?

And how would you define true friendship, anyway?

If you do, would you say that you see the answer more in being active politically, or in bringing about change in the way people think?
If so, are you - ahem a New Ager?

Ascendant in Leo, Sun in the Fifth House

My 7 year old:
Sun in Pisces, Moon in Aquarius in house 4
Ascendant in Libra, Sun in the Sixth House
Aquarius Moon here; 23 degrees, 10th House

Hi all

I hope to write more and more about this subject as there is so much to it that I just wouldn't be able to cover it all right now. Let me just say this; that it is with much, much relief that transiting Neptune has gone direct again - I have been so tired of this retrograde/direct motion in my 10th house over the past few years (and the yoyo effect my career has exhibited as a very accurate reflection) and am thankful that Neptune is going to actually cross the sensitive point of my 10th house, the Moon.

The stationary effect was felt by me very much, in fact in the weeks leading up to Neptune going stationary, I don't recall a time I had felt this inexplicable energy more. Then when it went stationery, it was like I felt completely disoriented there for a few days, not in a bad way, but these intense spiritual explorations of introspective depth reflected by Neptune's transits over my Aquarian moon have pretty much changed my life. Of course I've felt the influence of it since Neptune entered my 10th house (MC at 24 Capricorn - a long time, right?) but now that the "transformation" is within reaching distance for myself, I really feel relief and freedom in a sense that I've never felt before.

Having a Capricorn MC with an Aquarian moon at 23 degrees in my 10th house, it wouldn't surprise many who are familiar with this placement that I'm an "artist" - or more specifically, a singer, writer, actor; primarily. That's how it has been and will continue to effect me as I finally look forward to devoting myself entirely to my art in ways that I couldn't have imagined; with fearless freedom I hadn't really considered before the intensity of the transforming Neptune began to become clear to me.

Intense time? Absolutely, but entirely worth it, I believe.

I'd be interested to hear from people who also have an Aquarian Moon in their 10th house.

FYI: Natal birth data is 29 September 1982, 19:29 hours, Perth, Western Australia, AWST +08:00. If you're into numerology I have a life path of 22/4.

Hope to meet some people with planets in similar configuration to mine! The only artist I've found who's chart is similar (and strikingly so) to mine is that of John Lennon's.

I thought I'd post this as I had kind of made a mental note of those famous people with Aquarius Moon.

The ones that I know off the top of my head and people that I have found fascinating are

Jeff Buckley
Princess Diana
James Dean
Bono - U2
Prince
Uma Thurman

Does anyone know of any others?

Aquarius Moon with Sagittarius Sun--natural born activist?

Anybody else have this combination? I have the humanitarian urges of
Aquarius and the "mad at injustice" tendencies of Sagittarius, meaning that
I was probably destined to be involved in activism at some point.

"fuck authority" is pretty much how I feel about things. But I was raised in a very
strict, very authoritarian household, and that was really hard for me growing up---
I felt extremely suppressed.

I also have Virgo ascendant... which I think, paired with my aquarian moon,
is what made me such an intensely shy child. Virgo self-consciousness with
Aquarian feeling of not belonging. boo!

Does your home and choice of place reflect your Aquarius Moon? If not, then does it show up your Sun-sign preferences, or where your IC is placed in your chart?

It has just been on my mind a little - one of the saddest pieces of news I have heard from the UK, personally, is finding out that that most of the flats where used to live were demolished 3-4 years ago. Maybe the UK wasn't yet ready for anything 10 storys high or more. I had loved my flat for the quality of the light and for the community of artists around at that point of time (transit Pluto to Saturn, semi-squaring Moon).

Neptune conjuncting my Aqua moon at 22degrees, anyone else??

Howdy,

Well I was wondering if anyone else has their moon around about 22degrees of Aqua. The Neptune conjunction is coming around again if you do and i wanted to ask how are you finding this transit?

For me it is also squaring my Venus in Taurus. This is the 2nd time in the last year that I am experiencing this transit. The first time it conjuncted my moon around 8 months ago or so ( i think) i had a close friend come back into my life who was having major emotional struggles and upheavals and I was sort of the only person there for them, now as that person has moved countries and their issues are not in my life at this time, I am finding the Neptune energy and intense emotional sensitivity is affecting me directly, feeling very emotional and in an irrational sort of way, have felt like crying with no external reasons or so it appears, at times I have even felt like I am picking up on a collective shift/pain its all a bit confusing.

Anyone else having Neptune conjunct moon, for the first or second time?? It would be good to hear of different experiences.
xo

Hello,

Hoping someone has some insights for me on my current tranists

Right now I have Neptune conjunct Moon as well as Venus and Mercury conjunct my Aquarius Moon in the 4th house.

Anyone have any ideas/insights would be very much appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is Iam feeling quite emotional at the moment, might account for the current sun and moon being in Pisces, but I am also worried about a close friend of mine and that is taking up a lot of emotional energy at the moment.

Id anyone here old enough to have undergone their Uranus half-return? If so, hoe did you experience it?

If you are not old enough to have had one, then think about the time when you were in your late teens, as this is when transitting Uranus, your Moon ruler, makes a square - a 90-degreeaspect - to its own place. That is often why it is a time when many people pull up roots and start trying to live a more 'different' lifestyle.

With my Uranus half-return, I moved all my worldy goods to a different country. I had had a massive row with my mother where it did seem that we would never talk again. It was not something that I had actually wished for, but none of my family ever did check with my what my plans and intentions had been at the time, but had just drawn a lot of negative conclusions.Transitting Saturn made a square to this Uranus thing at the same time and the move did bring in its wake a few years of very harrassing red tape.

The time may well come when it coul be necessary to make a move like this agin, but nExt ime I will check tHe rules about Customs and Immigration a lot more carefully if any next destination lies outside the EU.

I often walk down the street and wonder why we have created such a mess in the world and why we dont do something about it since some of the stuff is really stupid little things we do and could easily be fixed.

i wonder that since aquarius moon people in general have an interest in humanitarian things and the world at large as well as the mental capacity to solve things creatively...what would would happen if a group of such people got together and tried to do some of these little things. We have plenty of organizations out saving this or that and working on the big problems but what about the little things. Its often the little things that add up to make a difference in the day to day quality of life.

And i often wonder if other aquarius types think similar to me about this? Do you? What are some of the little things you might fix if you could?

><{{{'> <"}}}><

i looked at things and wondered why doesnt somebody do something...then i realized ...

I am somebody....

There was some interesting converstaion ealier on about havinf natal aspects and midpoints to natal moon involving centuars like Chiron and Pholus. Well, I would like to get the chance to discuss these again, if at all possible. I have Pholus and chiron at 5 degrees away from my moon at each side, though don't have a clue what these mean,l and did hear that someone else here has these two centaurs conjunct her moon.

So, any more thoughts there?

Transiting Neptune Conjunct Moon part2

Ok I am reposting from a previous thread last year about the Neptune Moon conjunction. I am about to have this transit as my moon is 24' aquarius. Just wondering if anyone would care to share more insight and experiences.

Also I have to add that he NNode will be conjuncting my moon as well at this time. Does the transiting node offer any influence?

Thanks

How the Moon rules your life
At last, scientists claim to have found a link between our satellite and human behaviour - like how it governs the size of your dinner

By Roger Dobson
Published: 21 January 2007
For eons, folklore has blamed the Moon for everything from lunacy to bad luck. And, for the last few centuries, scientists have scoffed. Now, according to new research they're not so sure. The Moon may not be made of cheese, but it seems to influence a lot more down on Earth than we previously thought.

According to new research, the Moon affects not only the tides of the oceans but also people, producing a range of symptoms from flare-ups of gout to bladder problems. It may even lie behind the causes of car crashes and affect people's hormonal balances.

Having carried out new research and reviewed 50 other studies, scientists suggest that doctors and the police even need to prepare for how their work rate will increase at different points in the lunar cycle. Among the findings examined by the researchers were studies that showed GP consultations go up during a full moon, according to Leeds University. Appointments rise by 3.6 per cent, which works out at around three extra patients for each surgery. The researchers did not speculate on the nature of the moon-related problems or why they happened, but said that "it does not seem to be related to anxiety and depression".

Gout and asthma attacks peak during new and full moons, according to work carried out at the Slovak Institute of Preventive and Clinical Medicine in Bratislava, where attacks over a 22-year period were monitored.

Data from 140,000 births in New York City showed small but systematic variations in births over a period of 29.53 days - the length of the lunar cycle - with peak fertility in the last quarter. "The timing of the fertility peak in the third quarter suggests that the period of decreasing illumination immediately after the full moon may precipitate ovulation.''

A study in Florida of murders and aggravated assaults showed clusters of attacks around the full moon. A second study of three police areas found the incidence of crimes committed on full-moon days was much higher than on all other days. And a four-year study into car accidents found that the lowest number happened during the full-moon day, while the highest number was two days before the full moon. Accidents were more frequent during the waxing than the waning phase.

Another study of some 800 patients with urinary retention admitted to hospital over a period of three years found higher retention during the new moon compared with other phases of the cycle. Interestingly, patients didn't show any other daily, monthly or seasonal rhythms in their retention problems.

Even what we eat and drink is affected by the lunar cycle, according to a study at Georgia State University. Researchers looked at lunar variations in nutrient intakes and the meal patterns of 694 adults. They concluded: "A small but significant lunar rhythm of nutrient intake was observed with an 8 per cent increase in meal size and a 26 per cent decrease in alcohol intake at the time of the full moon relative to the new moon.''

While scientists have been trying to prove for some time that the Moon does exert an effect, what has not been established is why. Scientists have until now examined the theory that the Moon triggers changes through its gravitational pull. But the latest research points to an effect on people's hormones. "The lunar cycle has an impact on human reproduction, in particular fertility, menstruation and birth rate. Other events associated with human behaviour, such as traffic accidents, crimes, and suicides, appeared to be influenced by the lunar cycle,'' said Dr Michael Zimecki of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

"Although the exact mechanism of the Moon's influence on humans and animals awaits further exploration, knowledge of this kind of biorhythm may be helpful in police surveillance and medical practice,'' he said.

The researchers also found links between the lunar cycle and the likelihood of people being admitted to hospital with heart or bladder problems and with diarrhoea. The menstrual cycle, fertility, spontaneous abortions and thyroid disease were also affected. Just how the Moon could have an effect needs further research. Dr Zimecki suggests that it may be the effect of the Moon's gravity on immune systems, hormones and steroids.

He said: "At this stage of investigation, the exact mechanism of the lunar effect on the immune response is hard to explain. The prime candidates to exert regulatory function on the immune response are melatonin and steroids, whose levels are affected by the Moon cycle.

"It is suggested that melatonin and endogenous steroids [which are naturally occurring in humans] may mediate the described cyclic alterations of physiological processes. Electromagnetic radiation and/or the gravitational pull of the Moon may trigger the release of hormones.''

Whatever the root cause of the Moon's influence over us, its hold over the imagination will endure as long as the shining sphere of rock remains in the sky.

Only 12 people have walked on the Moon: the first were Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in 1969, the last were Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt in 1972. But last December, Nasa announced plans for a permanent base on the Moon in preparation for a manned mission to Mars.

Construction of the base is scheduled to take around five years, with the first voyages beginning by 2020.

moon in aquarius

Moon in Aquarius
Keywords: Sociable, Perverse, Independent, Altruistic, Demanding, Unflappable

Those born with the moon in an Air sign usually respond to situations in a way they think should fit the facts, that is, they act in a way they think others expect them to act, or they imitate the same behavior as others. This gives them the appearance of emotional coolness or non-involvement. Before turning a situation into a physical experience, and before considering the stability or practicality of the thing, or even how they may really feel about it, they tend to do and say what seems appropriate as if it were not really happening to them. In spite of what appears to be their analytical detachment, most of them are loving and loyal in relationships.

As lunar Air sign personalities, those with moon in Aquarius can be very sympathetic without being sentimental. Rarely beset with moodiness themselves, they often fail to pay attention to it in others, giving the impression they don't care. Idealistic, optimistic and friendly, they are unbiased and liberal in their treatment of people in general. Highly social, they attract friends and acquaintances from all walks of life, social and cultural backgrounds. They have difficulty focusing attention on just one person. As far as they are concerned "the more the merrier". Despite whatever eccentricity shows up in their personality, they are emotionally stable. Something in their emotional make-up gives them remarkable ability to calm those who are mentally disturbed or hysterical. When disappointed or unhappy, they focus on their activities and chores with such aplomb that others may not even realize they are upset.

Aquarius moon personalities do not want to be rushed or forced into making an emotional commitment. Once they make a commitment to an idea, project or relationship, they are tenaciously loyal and dedicated. Strong individualism and an eccentric nature can make marriage difficult. Marriage or raising a family rarely changes their established way of thinking and doing things. Though remaining independent in opinions and attitudes, more often than not, their attitudes and opinions turn out to be pretty traditional.

Women with Aquarius moon are often better friends and companions to their children than traditional nurturing mothers. Their interest in business or social affairs can distract them from ordinary domestic life. They may experience sorrow and disappointment in female relationships. Men with Aquarius moon display little jealousy or possessiveness in romantic relationships, a tendency that is sometimes interpreted by their partners as lack of love. Pursuing ideals and mental endeavors are often more important to them than amassing material wealth.

welcome to the aquarius moon tribe. Discussion is open to whatever you want to talk about, whether it is related to astrology or not. Aquarius moons, being a social group i assume there will be plenty we can talk about, from astrology to solving all the worlds problems or just where to get a good beer unless we are all too busy out drinking beer and solving the worlds problems to have time for tribe chatter

Just to get things started, i will ask you what your lunar degree is, Maybe once i get some time and when we get enough members i will post info on each degree or at least the decantes and quads.

my moon is at 15 degrees, and the declination is -14.
its a balsamic moon opposite uranus.
happy holidaze

I am usually ambivalent about the holidaze..not a christian and dont care for the religion of consumerism so find it hard to get excited like many do this time of year. I wonder if other aquarians feel that way.

I do like to use the new year to evalutate and make plans for what i wish to create in the new year.

I recently watched the secret movie and got involved in a great new business that is helping me and many others create a world of prosperity, health and peace.

The movie inspired me to really focus on developing my creative potentials....quit wasting my time on "fighting against " things like poverty or war and working "for" creating a world of abundance peace and prosperity where we can all use our energy for creative things instead of what we are doing now. We can do so much more and so much better if we would just think about what we are doing and use the secret to create a world so fantastic and joyful. I suppose like myself many of us already do that to some extent but we many dont. Many are still suffering ...basically from lack of knowledge.

so thats what i am creating for the new year. As Aquarius says...I BELIEVE... we can make 2007 the year of peace and prosperity. SOmethig big is happening ...I may be a dreamer but i am not the only one.
hope you will join me and give peace and prosperity a chance.

How about you? What aquarian things are you going to do for 2007? How will you use your moon \emotions this year?
are you cold hearted

As you may know if you read astrology books, that aquarius moon has a reputation for being accused of being aloof or cold hearted or out of touch with our emotions.

Have you ever been accused of such things?

I always am amused at such acusations.

What i find is that i often dont get caught up in personal dramas because i am looking at the bigger picture from a more global perspective. For instance i might see a hungry person and not show much emotion but at the same time be feeling sadness that there is so much hunger in the world.

Many people like to use emotions to manipulate and pull others into their personal dramas. People feed on emotions and like to stir them up. Thats very hard to do to someone with aquarius moon, so they get even more emotional and acuse us of being cold. Yet at the same time we can be drawn into global scale projects that would solve hunger for Everyone and not just that one person.

Do you find that true witih you?

I am not sure if that is very clear...i am a fish who thinks in pictures more than words so sometimes my words are more confusing than helpful ;-)

By Eric Francis

THE AQUARIUS MOON often presents a puzzle to astrologers. The moon is a cyclical creature, constantly changing. Aquarius is a fixed sign and tends to crystallize patterns. The moon is inherently emotional and Aquarius is usually described as being rational and intellectual. The moon is maternal and we hardly think of Aquarius as being particularly cozy this way. Aquarius is ruled by Saturn (in the modern age, also by Uranus). The moon rules the sign Cancer, which is about as different than Aquarius as you can get.

And different is exactly what you get.

Some astrologers will tell you it's a terrible moon and others will tell you it's a great moon. Whatever the case, there's something distinctly Aquarian about the Aquarius moon -- you can see it and feel it in these natives. It's not necessarily something easygoing on the deepest emotional levels, but it's not exactly out of place in the world either. You might say it's something that feels right about being out of place. It may be that because certain specific needs were denied to them in childhood, they turned out needing something they probably never expect to find. They are continuously in unfamiliar emotional territory, continuously forced to adapt, synthesize and create the world they need as a basic necessity of living.

This moon seems to come with a certain kind of pioneering spirit. For a fine example, Brian Epstein, the first manager of the Beatles, the man who put the Beatles into those classy suits and put them on the map, had an Aquarius moon. It required honoring both vision and practicality, and a feeling for exactly what the world was ready for.

George Lucas, who innovated a new genre of science fiction and created a robot that was as warm and loving as anyone's dog or friend -- Artoo-Deetoo -- has an Aquarius moon. Speaking of science fiction, its very inventor, H.G. Wells (The Time Machine), and his distant cousin and dharma heir, Orson Welles (producer of the radio classic War of the Worlds), both have moons in this sign. Of these people, George Lucas is the only household word. His actors and actresses and their characters were far more famous than he was, the same being true for Brian Epstein. As for Wells and Welles, their ideas and achievements are more famous than they are. This is not the Leo moon, where one must be visible, well-loved and well-known; Aquarius moons do fine working behind the scenes, and in fact, thrive there.

But it happens that they end up in your kitchen or television set. Consider the late Diana, Princess of Wales or John Lennon. Here are two of the best known names in Western culture, and both have an Aquarius moon. But they are known as much as anything for their basic humanity. There's a need to be normal with this moon, to be part of the world, to be human despite being famous, and that need is obviously driven by a feeling of being so different than everyone else.

John Lennon lived like just about any other New Yorker. Visiting my dad on the Upper West Side as a kid, I half-expected John to be having dinner with Yoko in the Empire Szechuan restaurant on 96th Street every time I walked in; that was how he lived. With Diana, Lennon shared a propensity for getting involved with social causes, which is something often associated with Aquarius. To most people, social causes are abstractions. To Aquarians, abstractions are real, so there's no conflict there. They can conceive of needs that most people cannot imagine. They are very good at identifying needs that go beyond themselves.

There is something distinctly futuristic about Aquarius moon people, like you're friends with a character from a sci-fi novel, or at least fictional character. They are "different," a little cool, a little (or a lot) remote at times, but consistently a friend and even a friend to their enemies. This is the moon with "no time to hate." (Richard Nixon, who had his moon in Aquarius and also had plenty of time to hate, is an example of how even someone so diabolical could be appreciated for his humanity. Nixon was the president who went down to the plaza quite early one morning with a somewhat alarmed Secret Service detail to explain the war to anti-Vietnam protestors.)

Are they friendly or dispassionate? Perhaps both, or seemingly so. One needs to be a little dispassionate to be a true friend; one must not get too involved. Their apparent lack of passion can drive the people who want them to be passionate a little nuts. Nuts is contagious; they are all a little or a lot neurotic, but you love them anyway.

Both Diane Keaton and Woody Allen have Aquarius moons. These two people -- are they characters or are they real? -- exemplify New York City-style mashugana like the professionals they are, popping Valium to stay calm and navigating the mental loops of relationships for all to see. "I awoke on Friday and because the universe is expanding it took me longer than usual to find my robe," Woody Allen said in last week's The New Yorker.

Their comedy is social satire. They get the joke of how stupid society is, with all its rules, expectations and appearances. They understand the rules and cannot help but break them. After all, what else are rules for? To an Aquarian that is.

Mental -- there is something mental about this moon, which is why some astrologers are prejudiced against it and claim it's shallow. But what it may lack in gushing emotion it makes up for in ideas. Both Alfred Nobel and Joseph Pulitzer, each idea men in their own right whose names are now attached to prizes which reward society's most daring journalists, creators and scientists, were of the Aquarian moon. It was Pulitzer, a newspaper publisher, who first called for the university-level training of journalists.

When NASA put the first woman in space, Sally Ride, it was someone with an Aquarius moon. Ditto for the first black baseball player to step up to the plate, Jackie Robinson.

How does this work? My take is that the moon is so antithetical to Aquarius that it functions chirotically. The moon seems agitated or irritated and must go to great extents to fit in at all; therefore it can also withstand the long struggles that pioneers face, and the mixed reviews they always wind up getting. They are already attuned to a degree of emotional alienation, so the discomfort of bold achievement is not too difficult for their natures to endure.

But their emotional natures are exceedingly complex, and mingled with all kinds of ideas about themselves. These are not simple people, no matter what you do. Emotional complexity is far more natural to them than it is to most other moons. This is one reason why they make such good friends. Everyone else's problems seem simpler than their own.

The dark side of the Aquarius moon appears in the likes of David Koresh, Charles Manson and Gary Gillmore. Koresh and Manson, for their part, exemplify the group aspect of this moon that can have a cultish quality. But there is still something of their humanity that shines through these people. Gillmore, a confessed double-murderer who became the first person executed after the Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty, became the truly human symbol for how stupid the death penalty is (in part thanks to Norman Mailer, who has an Aquarius sun). Even Charlie Manson, who masterminded numerous murders, comes across more as an actual living person rather than as a monster. Interesting that both Koresh and Manson had aspirations to being rock stars, perhaps the ultimate career experience for this moon (Linda Ronstadt and Neil Young being two examples).

Neil's lyrics give us some insight into the complexity of this moon. In one song, he talks about how all those lovers are only passing through you in the end. In another, he ponders, "How I lost my friends, I still don't understand." He continues:
They had the best selection,
They were poisoned with protection
There was nothing that they needed,
Nothing left to find
They were lost in rock formations
Or became park bench mutations
On the sidewalks and in the stations
They were waiting, waiting.

So I got bored and left them there,
They were just deadweight to me
Better down the road without that load.

What Neil seems to be saying is that his friends crystallized and become burdens -- and that they were spending their lives waiting. Though Aquarius itself may be about crystallization, the moon is always changing and it can't take one pattern of living for very long. So that moon is always on the move, emotionally and mentally, constantly reinventing itself, at least in a healthy specimen. The chart's aspects, of course, modify and describe the details.

This moon does not suffer from most of the usual attachment trips (just its own highly innovative ones, associated with its idealism about everything and everyone, idealism which is rarely fulfilled). The moon's first keyword is need, and the first keyword for Aquarius is freedom. Far be it for most humans to wrap their minds around such an abstract or bizarre concept! Or to not be terrified of it.

That unattached, on-the-move feeling leads some astrologers to say that its natives are shallow or not that serious about what they do, but that quality can be more or less exaggerated, or nonexistent, based on other chart factors. Obviously, some very high achievers have had Aquarius moons, but most of them have been restless souls. Consider John Lennon, whose musical compositions represented a rapid series of self-reinventions between 1966 and 1969. These albums pushed the culture forward and yet offered sanity and guidance in some of most tumultuous years in recent history. The Aquarius moon can deal with change; in fact, it needs and expects change, and expects and needs people to change. Everything is interesting, but nothing is that interesting for that long.

Including people. They need a lot of people around them, and a constant supply of fresh faces and minds.

Their ideas are stranger than most, their analyses more complex and penetrating, and their minds seem able to exist in many time periods at once. They are the most interesting people most of their friends know, but where does that leave them? Well, as usual, needing to invent someone or something, or to reinvent themselves, in order to fill the void.

Aquarius moon is the original brotherly lover. Their detachment -- in both men and women -- gives them the ability to be both lover and friend, either or both at the same time. Being friends with them after a romantic relationship has ended is often easy because they are generally not hung up on the past, and they recognize the necessity of friendship inherent in any sexual pairing even after the sexual dimension has changed. Alternately, they can really let people pass through them and move on.

They all have eccentric mothers, many of whom were a little detached and may themselves have "moved on." Their moms can have that same removed quality most people see in them. But removed or not, there is always something odd about mom. Either she is not there, or she's an aunt, or she's more like a friend than a parent, or she's just kinda weird. Does their mom ever really know them? Can anyone know them truly? It may be a lifelong quest, and the driving force behind everything else they set out to achieve.

Any one got that at the moment, or will? Actually it has made its first opposition to my Venus already, exact to the day I signed the mortgage agreement, but then we already knew that I did not get this agreement because the bank loves me.

And how do you get on with your Saturn transits to your natal moons? I have had some really tough times (the conjunction was very creative, but a good friend also committed suicide at this time) and at the moment I am doing what Tracy Marks for example says you should not do, wondering when it will 'strike' and how much of you will have to be scraped off the carpet when it does....

the aqua tribe has some astro folks. like our lunar MTS.
and this is from one the links in there. tho we have heard it before, prehaps a refresher course would be

Moon in Aquarius people are extremely observant. ...(how long has that pic been posted?)

They are life-time students of human nature, loving to analyze why people do what they do. This often stems from a detached—even shy—personality, especially in youth. Whether due to character or conditioning, Moon in Aquarius people often grow up feeling "different".

Although rather sociable, they are often loners at heart. Many have strong egos, or at least powerful defense mechanisms, and most Lunar Aquarians will do their best to be the most unique and unusual person they can be. Their inner feeling of loneliness—that they don't quite fit in—puts them on the outside, looking in.

There is a very idealistic and progressive streak in Lunar Aquarians that is admirable indeed. However, when the Moon is in Aquarius, natives often will deny the more irrational qualities of emotions—such as jealousy, possessiveness, and fear—in an effort to be "above" what they consider "pettiness". When this goes too far, Lunar Aquarians can be emotionally blocked, distant, and detached.

Lunar Aquarians can be very willful, especially in childhood. With age, these natives generally learn to handle their strong needs. Their desire for independence is powerful indeed, no matter what their age. With a quiet Sun and/or Ascendant, their desire to "shock" others is not always apparent until a relationship becomes comfortable. They are generally proud of their family members, boasting just how unique they are. When their families are ultra-conservative, the boast will be that they rebelled against all of that!

Although given to temper tantrums and willful behavior in youth, Moon in Aquarius people often grow up feeling that messy emotions are unappealing. They often pride themselves for being cool-headed, detached, and "above" what they consider the more base emotions. In the process, they can end up alienating others--and themselves. Although Lunar Aquarians can be especially adept at understanding others' behavior and motivations, they can lose touch with their own—simply because they have identified too strongly with what they aspire to be (and these aspirations are often super-human).

The Aquarian tendency to be humanitarian shows up powerfully in Moon in Aquarius. However, their kindness and concern for others is generally more a broad philosophy of life. With people close to them, Moon in Aquarius natives can seemingly lack compassion, as they often fully expect others to be as independent and detached as they are! In close, personal relationships, however, Lunar Aquarians generally give others a lot of personal freedom, and they will tolerate and enjoy all kinds of idiosyncrasies in people around them.

Moon in Aquarius people are rarely flighty people, but they can be unreliable when it concerns the little things in life. Often, this is simply an assertion of their independence. In the long haul, however, they are rather constant, as Aquarius is a fixed sign. As long as they have their own space and the freedom to be themselves, however kooky that may be, they are trustworthy and loyal.

Lunar Aquarians generally make wonderful friends. They'll make a point of leaving nobody on the outside. Many will fight for other's rights and crusade for equality.

What may be surprising is that Moon in Aquarius people have a lot of pride. In fact, when they've been attacked in any way (especially regarding their character or pictures posted...hehhehheheh), they can become very inflexible and cool.

It can be difficult to know just how sensitive to criticism Lunar Aquarians are, simply because they hide it so well! When their character or behavior has been criticized, they tend to dig in their heels and keep right on doing it. (the picture stays, dammit Jim...ooops wrong star series)....They fully expect others to accept them exactly as they are, or they don't have much use for them in their lives.

These sometimes maddeningly unpredictable people are nevertheless quite charming. They have an unmistakable stubborn streak, but when left to be themselves, they make unusual and endlessly interesting people to be around. Life just wouldn't be the same without Lunar Aquarians' unusual spin on the world and the people in it!

except for a few of my comments this is all from cafe astrology.......

I saw a thread asking how many aqua moons were considered cold hearted.
Well, how about 'reserved?'
It is just a thought....on Tribe I have seen thriving Scorpio moon tribes all full of juicy self.disclosure and revelations, Moon Pluto is just as forward, giving the lie to the idea that these guys are secretive (and the 'Scorpio' tribe is extemely active too) but I do wonder...is this kind of thing this moon position is comfortable with?
I don't know which other tribes are most popular. I have found one or two Yahoo tribes that look at midpoints butr have to admit they seem a little nerdy even to me.
The Aquarius tribe is pretty upfront.
Or is it due to absentee moderators?

I've got transiting Neptune on my 19 Aqu Moon right now, and of course, the house placement has so much impact. I've been having boundary problems (Neptune) regarding division of responsibility with a female (Moon) colleague at work (6th), and have also been feeling rather sluggish (Neptune weakens, and Moon is the body). I'm trying to cut down on caffeine to help with my energy levels. These are two 6th house issues that seem to correlate with this transit.

(Sasha Fenton)

The power of the Moon is rather muted in this sign, the greatest effect being to reduce the feeling element from the emotions. Inwardly you are detached, independent and rather cool. Although controlled and possibly a little bottled up at times, you like others around you to show that they need and want you. When meeting people for the first time socially, you are pleasant and affable if a little shy; meanwhile, you are weighing them up in a slightly watchful manner. You have a strong inner sense of self which would lead you to take a calculated risk in a career or even in a relationship. Although sensible, you are not over-cautious; therefore, you would accept most of life's challenges whether they put your finances or your feelings at risk. This ability to inwardly weigh and measure could be confusing to those who fall in love with you because, although you can discuss feelings in an articulate manner, one wonders just how much you are actually able to feel yourself!

Your inner nature is off-beat. You could find yourself travelling in a different direction from everyone else. Like your solar Aquarian cousins, you are educationally-minded and will choose a career where you can stretch your mind and also broaden the minds of others. You are kind, helpful and humanitarian, but this may be directed more towards the world in general than to those who are closest to you. Although you are helpful in practical ways, there could be an element of embarrassment and helplessness when you are faced by the sight of other people's emotional pain. You are afraid that if you allow weak people to latch themselves on to you they will drain your energies or, worse still, bore the daylights out of you! Your general outlook is balanced, optimistic and cheerful. To all except the most neurotic you would be a good friend.

Your mind is excellent, and it doesn't matter whether you are educated and academic or shrewd and streetwuse: either way, your thinking processes are fast, and your intuition is strong. You possess a dry and intelligent sense of humour. Your ideas are often excellent, and you have the ability to put them into practice.

Being strongly independent, you prefer to cope alone with your own problems, however harrowing they may be. One Moon in Aquarius friend of mine wouldn't allow anyone to go with him when he went into hospital for a major heart operation. You could reject outside hellp in case accepting it makes you appear weak and incapable. You mayeven view help as a form of interference. You're not at all keen on people who try to own you or to manipulate you, although you can be adept at manipulating others. Another pet dislike is of being falsely accused - you are willing to admit to your own errors, but will not carry the can for others. Your attitudes can sometimes cause others to stay at a distance from you, which can consequently cause misunderstandings both at work and at home.

Your friendliness is universal, and you would not reject anyone due to colour, age, race or religion. Many lunar Aquariuans belong to clubs and societies of one kind or another. You enjoy committing yourself to group activities. Most of your hobbies involve people and ideas which are sociable and charitable, such as youth work. There is one hobby which many of you enjoy entirely alone, although the results of this involve other people, and that is cooking. I have met some truly inspired solar and lunar Aquarian amateur chefs.

You can take any amount of chaos going on around you at work, but you need peace in your home, where you can be in control of your own environment (creating a little bit of chaos for others maybe). You enjoy visitors but don't appreciate people who dump themselves upon you. Many of you are clever handymen (and women), enjoying the challenge of working on your home and garden, and often finding imaginative and original ways of solving practical do-it-yourself problems.

Your memory is also rather original, and may be strangely selective, easily recalling things you find interesting but 'tuning out' from irrelevant details. However, you don't duck really important issues, as you have high standards of honesty and integrity. You don't as a rule go in for petty jealousies, and nor do you make mountains out of molehills. If your pride is hurt, you can be quite spiteful and very sarcastic. You really do need a cretive or useful outlet, or you can become bored, gossip or aloof.
Some of you are lazy and oto easygoing, especially if there are planets in the sign of Libra on your birthchart; yet others can be truly very eccentric, especially if there are other planets in the sign of Aquarius. For the most part, criticism brushes off you. You have a strong ego, and you feel that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, even opinions of you. You are not likely to change your ways in the face of criticism anyway.

In close personal relationships, you are kind, pleasant, thoughtful and passionate; you could even be rather romantic. Aquarius being a fixed sign suggests that you don't easily walk away from situations. You may stay in the same house, the same job or the same relationship long after the time when you should move on. However, if the day comes when you do move on, you seem to be able to do so in a decisive manner, looking mentally forward rather than backward. If necessary, you can wait years for the right person to come along. If this paragon does not appear, you spend years of your life alone. If you become bored with your permanent partner, you may look outside the relationship for change and excitement. If you fall in love with someone while you are still married, and especially if you have children, then you will be terribly torn between the need to be loyal and the need to be with the one you want. However, your famous Aquarian detachment may come to your aid here and allow you to work out logically what would be for the best. There is no doubt that you need an interesting and stimulating partner. Another very important ingredient would be shared interests and mutual respect. Without shared interests, you would gravitate towards interests of your own, and this would begin the process of allowing the marriage to drift into failure and loss. There is just a suspicion that lunar Aquarian males might find a very successful career-girl type of wife too much of a good thing. There could be just a tinge of jealousy creeping in here. You can be strangely blind to both the needs and the feelings of those you love. You may never really get to know them on a deep level.

Women of this lunation must have some kind of interesting work outside the home. Neither sex seems keen to have a large family, but the relationship between lunar Aquarian parents and their children is usually very good. There is a natural sensitivity to the needs of children and young people, and you would offer help without making undue demands upon your children or smothering them. It is just possible that you could expect too much of a very timid child, but for the most part you make a successful parent. You are always ready to stump up cash for education or hobbies, but you might be a little absent-minded about some of the practical details, such as making sure that they have a clean shirt for school.

Both sexes with this Moon sign are attractive rather than beautiful. In fact, your features are more likely to be rugged and bony than soft and sweet. None of this matters much because your friendliness, charm, sex-appeal and humour are far more effective with the opposite sex than any amount of sterile beauty would be. Being rather shy, you might have a little difficulty in breaking the ice; but your interest in people soon helps you to overcome this. Anyway, you always have the option of meeting people through mutual interests such as your work or social activities rather than, for instance, at a disco. People with fixed Moon signs can cope with a lot. It would take a great deal for you to break up a relationship; but when you do, there isn't a backward glance. In relationships, as in all things, you need freedom and independence, and may demonstrate this by being deliberately forgetful, erratic and hard to pin down with regard to mutual arrangements. You seek an intelligent and independent partner, and often are happiest with one who is much younger than yourself, so that to some extent you can advise or mould him / her. Be careful that when your good advice is taken and your pupil begins to blossom you don't then become resentful. If your partner started laying the law down to you and restricting your movements, your first impulse would be to get out of the relationship.

Sex for you is a by-product of love. You can indulge in sex for its own sake, but are much happier when love is the main motivating force. This may surprise many readers, but this lunation produces amazingly sexy people! Your special combination of action, imagination and stamina seems to bring something special to the act of love. Friends who are married to lunar Aquarians have told me... well, let's draw a veil over that! It's strange how the supposedly non-tactile air sign people seem to become so good at touching and cuddling when there's the chance of a bit of sexual activity.

Your temper can be a problem when you are young; but later you learn to sit back and control it. However, if hurt, you retain the ability to wound verbally. There may be a lack of adaptability in your attitude to others. You will only go as far in order to fit in with their wishes. You are inclined to consider that other people ought to take or leave you just as you are. Your partners are chosen to some extent because they have the right appearance. Fatness turns you right off, as does dirt and mess. A lively person who has many outside interests would attract you; if he / she has a sense of humour and also looks nice, better still. Lunar Aquarians of both sexes prefer an equal partnership, and will do all they can to promote the interests and job of the other, even trying to help the partner to enjoy his or her hobbies. There is evidence that you wouldn't be so happy if the hobby was particularly noisy one, because you hate loud, discordant noises.

Needing a pleasant home and a nice garden, you have no special preference for the town or the country. I think you would make the best of it wherever you were, as long as you are not isolated from people or fenced into a very small space.

You take work seriously, and don't like chopping and changing jobs, preffering to find a career into which you can settle. You are interested in ideas and willing to learn; therefore, you do well at school and continue to learn later on. Certainly your parents encouraged you to progress; but like all lunar masculine signs you are inwardly quite goal-orientated. You enjoy work which is useful to the community, and you also like making things which are needed. You can pursue a goal persistently; therefore, you can close a deal if someone else will open the door for you.

Working with children might appeal to you, either directly in education, or in something tough such as the probation service, because you have patience even for the awkward ones. You take well to challenges, and can ride out most problems without falling apart; therefore, the armed forces or police may appeal. Your incisive mind may lead you into the legal sphere, medicine, psychiatry or even astrology. Being impatient with fools, you could find delegating difficult. You usually learn from your own mistakes, and are fairly forgiving towards others for theirs, as long as the mistakes do not occur too frequently and are not too obviously stupid. You solve problems in an original way, but must learn to keep lists and use your memory rather than your forgettery.

New Tribe - Animal Rights

The pleasure of your participation is requested.

Tribe.net has its first tribe dedicated to the legal rights of animals - and you're invited!

http://tribes.tribe.net/animalrights

This tribe is dedicated to the promotion and enshrinement in national and international law of the rights of non-human animals to live free from human exploitation and to live in harmony with their nature, rather than according to human desires. Here, we discuss philosophy and news related to the positive progress towards these rights.

We also discuss why the establishment of laws (and attitudes) that protect the dignity and inherent worth of non-human animals is in our *own* interest (this is known as Enlightened Self-Interest).

As Arthur Schopenhauer said:

"All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

I believe we are transitioning from the second to the third stage. Please join me in welcoming it.

If you care about the fate of non-human animals, indeed if you care about the fate of *humans*, I urge you to join the tribe and facilitate the move towards a better world for us all.

Thank you.

http://tribes.tribe.net/animalrights

decantes and dwads intro

DECANS OR DECANTES:
The ancient Egyptians are believed to be the first to add together every 10 degrees of each sign or every ten days into what are referred to as decans or decanates.

Each sign is divided into three decans or decantes. The first 10 degrees form the first decan. The second 10 degrees make up the second decan, and the last 10 degrees of the sign make up the third decan.

Each decan of a sign is said to be influenced by the signs of similar elements (fire, earth, air, water). For example, the decans of Aries are influenced by the fire signs since Aries is a fire sign. The first decan of any sign is influenced or doubly influenced by the sign itself. The first decan of Aries is strongly influenced by the sign of Aries itself and by Aries' ruling planet Mars. The first ten degrees symbolize the pure Aries nature of initiative and naivety of Aries and the energy and aggression of Mars.

The second decan is influenced by the next fire sign Leo and its ruler the Sun. The Aries qualities are modified by Leo's creativity and egotism and the Sun's need to shine. The last decan of Aries is influenced by the next fire sign Sagittarius and its ruler Jupiter. The last decan of Aries is modified by wanderlust, optimism, humor, a philosophical attitude, and a need to understand.

The first decans of Taurus, an earth sign, is influenced or doubly influenced by Taurus and its ruler Venus. The first ten degrees symbolize the Taurus qualities of material values, materialistic desires or lusts, acquisition, possessiveness, and the Venetian love of beauty.

The second decan is influenced by the next earth sign Virgo and its ruler Mercury. The Taurus qualities are modified by Virgo's analytic and critical characteristics and Mercury's intellectual, mental, verbal, and communicative qualities. The last decan of Taurus is influenced by the next earth sign Capricorn and its ruler Saturn. The last decan of Taurus is modified by concerns regarding social status, responsibility, honor, career, and authoritarianism.

DWADS OR DWADASAMAS:
A dwad, short for dwadasama, is Sanskrit for "twelfths." A dwad is one twelfth of a sign, or two and one half degrees. Each sign is divided into twelve sections of two and one half degrees. This interpretive technique is barrowed from Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, the astrology of India. However, dwads are rarely interpreted by western astrologers.

The first dwad of a sign symbolizes the sign itself. For example, the first dwad of Aries represents Aries and its ruler Mars. The first dwad of Taurus symbolizes Taurus and its ruler Venus.

The second dwad of any sign represents the next consecutive sign. The second dwad of Aries is modified by the next sign Taurus. The third dwad of Aries is modified by the next sign Gemini.

The first dwad of Taurus represents Taurus and its ruler Venus. The second dwad of Taurus is modified by Gemini. The third dwad is modified by Cancer.

The first dwad of Gemini represents Gemini and its ruler Mercury. The second dwad of Gemini is modified by Cancer. The third dwad of Gemini is modified by Leo.

The sub-influences of the dwads can be used to modify or individualize the signs in the same manner that decans can be used to modify or individualize an interpretation. Because dwads consist of two and one half degrees, they tend to take more effort to recognize.

In addition to modifying characteristics or qualities, both dwads and decans can also be used in the calculation, timing, and interpretation of experiences, behaviors, and events.

(Haydn Paul)

The Moon in Aquarius indicates that a powerful social awareness influences you, and that many of your personal needs will be connected to social groups or organizations. Involvement with socially active groups will attract, although these may be more modern, radical pressure groups rather than established social organizations, because of your rebellious natures. The idealistic vision and values of such groups are especially appealing to you, both intellectually and emotionally; and as Aquarius is the sign of group consciousness, you will, at least mentally, align yourself with such progressive groups. Yet as you perceive yourself to be highly individual, actually working within groups may not be so suitable, since you are determined to pursue an iconoclastic approach. You can enjoy the freedom of remaining on the fringes as an observer rather than becoming involved in real participation.

Socially, you like to build a wide network of friends and acquaintances in which there is a breadth of various relationships based on a commonality of social and creative interests. You enjoy variety and constant mental stimulation; and your home life is often turned into a meeting place for like-minded individuals. The revolution may occur only in your mind, but you do like to reflect the changing world and to express the new perceptions, if only to see the effect they have on people. Yet you may become dedicated to a cause or belief; and your attitudes are genuinely held, even if the eventual application may sometimes be lacking.

Relating to humanity as an impersonal whole is easier for you than relating on a one-to-one basis, especially in intimate contacts. Emotions are not particularly well-integrated; and sometimes your social whirl serves as an excuse to evade fears of emotional closeness. You intellectualize emotions rather than directly experiencing their power and intensity; feelings are diverted into a mental examination, otherwise you may feel threatened by their wildness. By demanding emotional freedom in relationships, you are just trying to keep emotions at a distance. This can manifest in fears of commitment, even though you may actually need that commitment for growth.

The Moon is not at ease in Aquarius, where the combined energies may confine and conflict. Lunar emotions, instincts, and feelings try to break free of Aquarian impersonality and mental focus, searching for greater emotional closenses and seeking to fulfill often unacknowledged needs. Aquarian energies may stimulate sudden, radical life-style changes as an escape from family responsibilities or emotional suffocation.

Moon and Aquarius may be brought into deeper harmony if you begin to honor emotional and instinctual needs. Your sympathy with the needs of humanity is genuine, engaging a heartfelt response; but these feelings also need to be liberated throughout your life. Releasing your potential also means working with your whole nature, recognizing emotions and feelings as a vital part of your individuality; cutting them off makes as much sense as chopping off a leg. Let your natural emotions flow more easily. Follow their messages, instead of just paying attention to your intellect, logic, or philosophical belief systems. Otherwise you pollute and damage the ecological system of your being; and like all stagnant water, it will grow poisoned and foetid, distroting your advanced social perceptions and destroying your own humanity.

Allowing emotional vitality to flow will also awaken intuitive perception and release your natural inventiveness; this may enable you to make a greater social contribution and vitalize inner realms through improving the quality of your intimate relationships.

(Skye Alexander)

Emotionally, you can be quite unpredictable, excitable, even explosive. Given to temper tantrums and sudden outbursts, you express your feelings with uncensored candor. You are most upset by social injustices and inequities, and might be more passionate about causes than people. Although your anger is easily aroused, it doesn't last long; once you've vented it, you see no reason to hold a grudge, and may behave as if nothing had happened. You can't understand why others might be hurt by your harsh words.

In truth, you enjoy a good confrontation now and again, and don't really want things to go too smoothly. Tense and high-strung, you like to keep the emotional pot boiling and don't want your home life or relationships to become routine or predictable. For you, boredom is the deathblow to a relationship. If you are involved with someone who has Moon in Aries or Aquarius, you might fight a lot but still get along famously. However, you are likely to trample or bully people whose Moons are in more gentle or emotional signs. Stubborn, brusque and willful, you can be insensitive to the feelings of others.

Though your emotions are easily engaged and displayed with great force, they aren't very deep. With those who love you, you sometimes seem detached and aloof, and it's difficult to be truly intimate with you. Intimacy and emotional closeness smack of possessiveness to you. You demand freedom to come and go as you please, and to associate with whomever you choose; and anyone who doesn't like it isn't worth your time anyway.

Although you may change lovers frequently or have severl simultaneously, you are intensely loyal to your friends. Friendship, in fact, is far more important to you than romantic live; and you probably have many friends and associates. Casual companions and relationships that don't make too many demands on your emotions are more comfortable for you. Above all, you expect honesty, equality amd fairness in all your relationships.

Your childhood home was probably chaotic, constantly changing and / or unstable in some way. Perhaps you moved frequently. Your parents may have fought a great deal, or split up when you were still young. Most probably, there was something unusual about your upbringing and / or your parents.

Your mother (or nurturing parent) might have been avant-garde, unconventional, or in some way different from her contemporaries. Though she probably encouraged you to develop your intellect and become independent as soon as possible, she wasn't very nurturing or supportive of you. Possibly she found parenting too restrictive, and resented being tied down with children when there were so many other exciting things to do. She may not have been there when you needed her, and had trouble showing affection, sympathy and compassion.

You want to be a friend to your own children rather than an authority figure. When they are very young, you can be quite impatient with them. You don't like their dependency, and want them to hurry and grow up so they won't make so many demands on you and you can have more freedom. As a result, you may 'push them out of the nest' too soon. Unless you have several planets in Taurus, Leo, Cancer or Pisces, you aren't very affectionate with them and prefer reading them bedtime stories to rocking them to sleep. Unless Capricorn or Scorpio is prominent in your chart, you probably aren't much of a disciplinarian and your kids might be a bit rebellious and wild.

Because of your deep concern for humankind, you might want to initiate programs to protect and feed the world's homeless orphans and take care of all who are in need. Even if you have no biological children, you may feel as though you are 'mother' to many.

Your physical home isn't very important to you (unless you have Cancer or Taurus prominent in your chart). You may change residences frequently or have an unconventional living arrangement, such as sharing a home with an odd assortment of other people. Some might describe your lifestyle as 'bohemian'. At the very least, your house is probably decorated in an eclectic, ultra-modern or off-beat fashion; and housekeeping isn't your most obvious talent.

Both men and women with this Moon placement revel in being 'different' and will go out of their way to shock the more conventional members of their families. Men with Moon in Aquarius enjoy women who are strong-willed, independent, unusual and intelligent. Women are not particularly maternal and usually aren't happy in traditional roles or relationships that aren't 'equal'.

(Marion D. March and Joan McEvers)

You consider experience a proving ground for yourself. You react to everything on a utilitarian and, at the same time, idealistic level. Release is very necessary for you, as you tend to overload yourself emotionally. You need a cause or project to release tension, or you become frustrated. This can lead to restless wandering and search or to spiritual enlightenment.

Your sense impressions are quick, and your mind and emotions react together; thus you have mental clarity and involvement. Your blending of religious, humanitarian, sexual and scientific instincts is good.

You have a universal quality and are ahead of your itme. You are a charming friend and companion and an interesting conversationalist. Women with the Moon in Aquarius can become too eccentric and experimental, and both sexes must avoid being too impersonal or detached. A man with the Moon in Aquarius seeks a rather liberated mate, especially in sexual matters.

You may be inclined toward politics or education or unusual subjects such as astrology and the occult. You are likely to show originality, ingenuity, inventiveness and scientific ability. Your imagination is fertile, and you have a lot of creative energy; if you are not careful, your abundance of emotional energy can cause your nervous system to suffer. You are a born mixer and joiner, especially for a cause.

You prefer the unconventional, and you value your personal independence. You are idealistic and broad-minded; but behind your friendly, outgoing manner you hide a good bit of selfishness. You must consciously control erratic behavior, aloofness and unpredictability. Your early training in ethics and moral standards will bring good results.

This placement of the Moon overemphasizes friendliness, humanitarianism and kindliness. Your need for emotional independence can lead to loneliness and difficulty with emotional relationships; you may brush these off with seeming indifference. Your feeling nature can be cold because you do not understand the emotional needs of someone else. You act warm and friendly but not especially intimate, suggestive or penetrating.

You see your mother as a friend and companion. She raised you to stand on your own feet; she is a humanitarian and is not a run-of-the-mill mother in her general behavior.

Jan Spiller & Karen McCoy)

Static

When you habitually seek the feedback of otehrs to supply your need for feelings of self-worth in your personal and emotional situations, you can inadvertently relinquish power and self-control. You are attuned to the hidden motives and desires of other people. If you use this knowledge to manipulate your worth and value in their eyes, you may find yourself unable to maintain your integrity and identity. Consequently, your self-worth can be at the precarious mercy of the outside world and the success of your manipulations of it.

When you look to others for feedback, you may be left feeling uncertain about what action to take. Needing validation leaves you uneasy about your material and sexual connections with other people. Thus, you may feel afraid that any intimate relationship might put you in a vulnerable position where unexpected emotional rejection could be experienced.

To avoid this, you may create emotional drama that ensures others will stay at a distance. This game results in a negative self-image and emotional isolation.

Dynamic

When you take responsibility for creating loving relationships, you may notice that past methods have brought about a consistent feeling of being worthwhile to others. Others cannot provide you with idealism in relationships because in seeking their approval you may not be aware of what they offer to bring about your ideal. Your lesson is to release the need for others' approval in order to determine what is valuable to you in other people.

Having a sense of your own worth puts you in touch with your value systems. At the same time, doing what you feel is worthwhile and needs to be done automatically enhances self-worth. Then you have something to offer other people, and the relationship with them automatically begins to meet the idealism you want. As a by-product, others give unexpected approval without your consciously seeking it.

Getting in touch with the spontaneity of your own inner child enables you to express yourself in ways that invite others to play with you. Performing those values that keep you feeling a sense of fun about life keeps you in touch with your own vitality and worth.

As you inspire confidence in others and encourage them to express their talents and abilities, you see them furthering your ideals of brotherhood whether or not they are aware of it. In this process, you can create the many loving friendships you want, and experience the fulfillment of seeing your own humanitarian ideals and values being actualized.

General

You have self-awareness in the context of group situations, so your emotional stability tends to be dependent upon maintaining mental accord and harmony with those around you. You may compromise your own individuality in order to keep the peace with others, since you fear that you may need to count on these friendships at a later date for survival. You are too dependent on your peers for support, to the extent that you may concentrate on friendships to the exclusion of more intimate involvements.

One lesson you are learning is to make yourself strong. By becoming more aware of what it is that you want and then exercising your creative power to bring about the fulfillment of these wants, you revitalize your attachment to disassociation and get involved in life in a healthy way. You are learning to take hold and enjoy the creative provess by using the tools of excitement, romance and playfulness to enlist others to follow your lead in creating mutual goals that are for the common good.

Since you have fears of a lack of wholehearted personal love, and a sense of impersonalness, you naturally feel insecure about entering into deeply personal relatedness. You are learning to infuse your more personal, intense relationships with humane treatment of the other person to create closeness while working for the common good.

You have an inborn sense of what is for the good of the whole, and a natural predisposition for doing what is best for others. Yours can be the highest form of friendship. You are learning to combine this awareness with a realization of what you want to create in the relationship, and then to joyously go about creating a structure that encompasses the needs of both people.

You are learning to create what you want, giving attention to those relationships that are important to you, and carefully monitoring the situation to see that it is still headed in the direction of your goals. Having a goal in your relationships is important; its creation and attainment validates your effective participation. You need to learn that giving attention to a relationship makes it thrive, while withdrawing attention allows it to wither. Then the other person will go somewhere else, looking for involvement that is more constant.

Your natural humor allows you to take the more selfish foibles and perspectives of others in stride; and this serves as a safety valve in the event that your experimentation with close personal involvement occasionally goes awry.

(Tracy Marks)

Our Aquarian Moon indicates that we need to experience and express our individuality, to be free to interact with a wide range of people, and to use our intuitive, inventive and abstract mental capacities, as well as to contribute meaningfully to society. The energies of Aquarius do not mesh easily with the Cancerian Moon principle. We may have difficulty acknowledging and validating our needs and feelings, and fear closeness and intimacy. When threatened by emerging emotions or needs, we may rationalize or intellectualize, may rebel or loudly proclaim our self-sufficiency, or may become overly preoccupied with stimulating activities. Sometimes, Moon in Aquarius may lead us to make sudden abrupt changes in our lives in order to overcome the internal suffocation of too much closeness or feeling experience. Cultivating a network of friends, and / or dedicating ourselves to a cause in which we believe, may fulfill us, but may also be a compensation for unmet personal needs.

It is most likely that a parent encouraged our Aquarian qualities. He or she may have been intellectual, humanitarian and individualistic, and supported these traits in ourselves. We learned to take pride in our uniqueness and originality, and in our social and mental skills. However, such a parent may also have been emotionally detached or cold, and unable to nurture us physically or emotionally, while nonetheless remaining responsive to large groups of people and social involvements which were less restrictive and emotionally demanding than ties to family. One or both or our parents may have been unpredictable or erratic when relating to us, so that we were unable to develop trust in secure and stable relationships, and learned at an early age to defend against intimacy.

We who have Aquarian Moons need to experience and value our own uniquesness, while at the same time creating for ourselves our own society of intimates, one in which our emotional needs are respected and met rather than suppressed. We need to develop and trust our intuition, and to use our minds to help us understand our feelings and discover how to meet our needs, rather than escape from them. Other tasks of our Aquarian Moon involve cultivaing the internal freedom which results from full openness to our emotional natures, and learning to be our own friend rather than submerging ourselves in social interactions because of our discomfort with ourselves.

(Sydney Omarr)

With the Moon in Aquarius, the native is generous, broadminded, attractive to members of the opposite sex, and popular in general, but he often lacks the strength to be practical enough to fulfill his hopes and wishes. He loves applause and praise, but secretly doubts that he is really as capable as others might imagine him to be. He needs to be determined, but should avoid being stubborn. He must learn to accept criticism and not constantly seek the company of those who flatter him.

The native is interested in social mores; he wants to improve world conditions, but often neglects his own neighborhood or family.

There are numerous contradictions in his nature. He recognizes these, and they cause him more than a little concern. The road to Hell, as they say, is paved with good intentions. Perhaps this very well fits the Moon in Aquarius. No doubt he wants to do good. But in trying, he steps on toes, and is often harsh in his efforts to get in a position where his influence will be felt. He needs to feel he is helping others - and in trying to do so often convinces people that they are not really as happy as they think.

He is attracted to 'far out' subjects, including astrology, magnetism, dream interpretation, psychology, sociology, social theories, hypnotism, television, space flights, etc.. He is given to fantasy, fascinated by science fiction (even though he may profess to be 'above it all'). He is very sensitive - and if the Moon is in poor aspect to the Sun, may have an eye defect.

He is considered unconventional - and he is proud of it! His public image is that of a humanitarian who often makes himself appear ridiculous by going the long way around.

The astrologer's task is to make him realize that his first duty is to make himself happy. He must help himself before he can really earn the respect of others.

AQUARIUS
With the Moon in Aquarius, you are unconventional, humorous, gregarious, high-spirited and humanitarian. A love of cooperation draws you to group activities or projects in which a common goal is sought. Emotions are expressed by doing things for friends. It is your nature to work with groups and you relate better to groups than in one-on-one relationships. The bonding is more intellectual than emotional, appearing as aloofness in the personal sense but as camaraderie in the context of a group. You have a certain flair, appeal or allure which makes you 'connect' with the masses or with people of your own generation.
In relationships you seek a person who is somewhat unusual. You look for a companion who can share many interests with you. In business you need a stable partner who can make good practical use of your creative imagination and keep you grounded.
You have trouble expressing emotions but you analyze these emotions extensively. There is a detached air about you and you may be intrigued by those who are out of reach. Friendship and freedom are very important to you.
Your lifestyle could be at odds with the accepted norm, but this is probably due to your progressive view. The forward-looking aspect of Aquarius makes you very open-minded about the changing trends in society and can adapt quite easily.
You are a mixture of radical thought and conservative action and are sometimes plagued by anxiety and tension. Often you take on others' problems or causes without getting anything in return. Always insisting on your own individuality, you express yourself in unique ways, sometimes appearing strange, eccentric or ingenious to more conservative types.
